Monastery hall in the evangelical centre
A beautiful urban-planning building of the very highest quality has been created just a few minutes walking distance from the town centre, at the evangelical Christuskirche in the historic rooms of a former Capuchin monastery. The building of the former monastery brewery, for many years also home to a discotheque, was converted into a large and modern event hall by the Town of Neumarkt in 2016, and then let out to the Evangelical Church that has also set up its new community centre on the site.
The ensemble, newly created with a great deal of affection for the historic location, constitutes an upgrade of the entire site on the edge of the Neumarkt Old Town.
The new monastery hall is a successful architectural combination of old and new that finds its expression in the careful redesign of the historic building, using high-quality materials such as oak and brass. Exciting, substance-retaining solutions were found in many details through close collaboration with the heritage conservation authorities.
It goes without saying that the hall, which offers seating for 110 persons given the parliamentary seating arrangements, is equipped with the latest technology. The atmosphere is particularly well suited for concerts, banquets, conferences and festivities. The spacious foyer with historic pillar vault offers additional options for festive receptions.
