Modern interpretet tradition
Designed as typical “Oberpfälzer” farmhouse with main and adjacent building in the middle of a green area, the HAUS AM HABSBERG, situated a few kilometres outside of the town of Neumarkt, is in harmony with the scenery around the 621-metre-high Habsberg with the pilgrimage church “Maria Heil der Kranken”. The Environmental Training and Regional Development Centre, opened in 2007, is flooded with light on the inside, clearly structured and flexible. With its quiet, secluded location, the Haus am Habsberg is also suitable for further training measures and workshops in an undisturbed atmosphere.
The versatile lecture hall is equipped with the latest communication technology; a large panorama window offers a view far out over the surrounding landscape.
The HAUS AM HABSBERG offers numerous units on its core themes as accompanying programme - rural self-sufficient economy, regional circular economy, nature and environmental training. The premises are gladly open in conjunction with an environmental training unit. For example, conferences or festivities with a walking tour, nature tour or communal cooking in the open kitchen develop into a very special experience. Otherwise, the catering is freely selectable.
The 2.4 hectares of land around the house allow guests to experience the local cultural landscape on a small scale with a potato field, a meadow with fruit trees and the immaculately designed cottage garden. A visit to the grounds (guided tours are also possible) can be integrated into seminars and conferences as accompanying programme.
The Youth and Conference House of the Eichstätt Diocese in the immediate vicinity offers accommodation for groups.
